The Malverns

The Malvern Hills are Pre-Cambrian geological features close to my heart. My parents' home has a clear view of them, and I went to school in their shadow. Every year at the end of term we were commanded to walk around and along the hills for an entire day. With me as with most of the participants this was not a popular move, but has meant that I have an engrained and deep relationship with them and now I can't get enough!

This weekend there had been a sprinkling of snow and the wind from the Hereford side was mean and cold, so we shied away from the Beacon in favour of a cuppa at St Anne's Well.

There is nothing more pleasing to the eye at this time of year than a gnarled old tree against a harsh background.
